Why we should recycle Old Mobile Phones???
Nearly two hundred fifty million phones are discarded every year. Getting rid of old mobile phones that are of no use to anyone anymore benefits the world greatly. Landfills are not as filled up with the hazardous materials from mobile phones as most that are thrown away end up in landfills because some people have no idea that these phones contain toxic metals that are harmful to the environment. The electronic wiring has copper and lead products, and the plastic parts have been processed with flame retardants. Along with toxins, arsenic and zinc, there are also valuable precious metals, glass, foams, paints and plastics that have to be made again from scratch. This takes more energy. Re-producing all of these products cause even more pollution to the planet.
Not only can you help out the environment by recycling, you can also help someone else, along with getting that much needed bit of cash for yourself. Charity organisations offer them to the less fortunate of us, people that have been involved in domestic violence, in shelters or homeless. Even deactivated phones can be used to place emergency calls. Thousands of people throw away mobile phones every day and the impact to the earth is huge. Laws are now being passed in the UK regarding the disposal and recycling of these old handsets and their rechargeable batteries as the government is starting to understand what the impact is doing to the environment. There are many options out there to consider. It matters not what your reasons are, to get some handy cash, or donate your old mobile phones to recycle, refurbish or reuse, someone will greatly appreciate it. It is so easy to simply compare the best price you can get for them online and send it to a phone recycling company. Some mobile phone recycling programs will even prepay your delivery cost to help you out. Do your children and the world a favour. Why not also take up a collection from your co-workers, friends and family, and please recycle. Guests cannot see links in the messages. Please register to forum by clicking here to see links. |
