African Response appoints Mamapudi Nkgadima new Managing Director
Global market research firm Synovate has announced that Mamapudi Nkgadima will take on the position of managing director of its company African Response. Nkgadima will assume the role on 1 August 2010. Mamapudi brings 20 years of market research experience to African Response including the management of her own seven year old company, MEDU Strategic Marketing and Research. MEDU has grown into a significant black-owned market research and strategic marketing firm with an impressive blue chip client base. Thirteen years of Nkgadima’s career were spent in marketing at Standard Bank, Unilever, Danone Clover and SC Johnson. “We are delighted to have Mamapudi on board,’” said Jon Salters, CEO for Synovate Africa. We are confident she will take African Response to even greater heights with her strategic leadership as well as her wealth of experience and technical knowledge in market research, marketing and entrepreneurship. “A real empathy and understanding for the client’s business needs is the key to outstanding market research. The addition of Mamapudi will give African Response’s clients a clear advantage in this area, helping ensure there is a positive impact on their business.’” Salters added: “Our commitment to BBBEE is something that we take very seriously, and African Response has become a prominent player in the South African marketing research landscape.’” Educated at South Africa’s top institutions including UCT, Wits and UNISA, Mamapudi has an MBL, a PDM and a Bachelor of Social Science. Beatrice Kubheka, the current Managing Director, will take on the role of Chairperson of African Response and will retain a strong presence in the business, with particular focus on client relationships. She will also draw on her 35 years in market research to ensure that African Response continues to provide the best research experience and insight into the South African market. “Beatrice made a massive contribution to the success of African Response during her tenure and we are thrilled that she will be staying with us until her retirement. She has become one of the most recognized, respected and well liked figures in the South African market research industry, and her ongoing involvement in African Response will continue to give the business a unique advantage,’” said Salters.
